Life at Camp | Accommodation for Volunteers at LUMO Conservancy

You will stay at a volunteer house, which is part of the compound where also the wildlife rangers live (the rangers live at separate houses). The compound is guarded and safe. The volunteer house has 4 rooms and the volunteers share shower and toilet (Western water toilet). A chef of the Conservancy is catering food to volunteers, full board is included in the rate. The house also has electricity.

At the village of Maktau and Msorongo there are a few shops that only sell basic groceries. Though there is lack of entertainment options such as cinemas, cafes, mega shopping facilities in this remote place, the nights a characterized with entertaining gazing of stars and moon around fireplace with stories, distant memorable laughs from hyena, trumpets of elephants and roars from lions and song birds. Also power supply can be limited; we recommend you to bring a torch and a solar charger to charge your electrical devices.
