World Rangers Day 2023

We had the honor of hosting the World Rangers Day celebrations to express our heartfelt gratitude to the fearless and dedicated wildlife rangers around the globe. These brave men and women work tirelessly to safeguard our natural treasures, protecting endangered species and preserving the delicate balance of our ecosystems. Day and night, they patrol the wilderness, facing formidable challenges, and risking their lives to combat poaching, illegal logging, and other threats to wildlife and their habitats. Their unwavering commitment to conservation is nothing short of inspiring

This year’s theme being ’30 by 30 goal’ an initiative from the 2022 United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15), the position of rangers to stand united with world leaders and decision-makers to effectively contribute to the conservation and management of at least 30 percent of our planet by 2030 was among the day’s highlights. Their efforts remind us that every action, no matter how small, contributes to the larger cause of safeguarding our planet’s biodiversity and securing a sustainable future for all living beings.

The chief guest Miss Nancy Githaiga, the country director of African Wildlife Foundation graced us with her visit. We are immensely grateful for our partners’ commitment to our shared vision of a sustainable and harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife. Their belief in our cause strengthens our resolve to continue working tirelessly to protect endangered species and conserve biodiversity for future generations. Collaboration is the cornerstone of successful conservation, and we are honored to stand alongside such passionate and dedicated partners. Together, we can achieve so much more in the fight against environmental challenges and in fostering a deep appreciation for the wonders of our natural world.

To further support our more than 454 rangers, who selflessly put their lives on the line, the Tsavo Landscape Conservancies Sacco was launched. This initiative aims to economically empower our rangers, nurturing their personal development as they continue their invaluable work in preserving our wildlife and environment.

Let us remember to stand together as a global community and salute the bravery and dedication of these true conservation heroes. They serve as a beacon of hope, reminding us that together, we can make a difference in the fight against environmental degradation and species extinction.
